Reciprocating vacuum pump

The working principle of a reciprocating vacuum pump is to suck in and exhaust gas through the reciprocating motion of the piston inside the cylinder. Its main components include the cylinder, piston, crank connecting rod mechanism, exhaust valve, and suction valve.Under the drive of the electric motor, the crank connecting rod mechanism converts the rotational motion into the reciprocating linear motion of the piston. When the piston moves from the left end to the right end,the volume of the left chamber of the cylinder is larger, and the pressure decreases, lower than the pressure inside the container being pumped.Gas is sucked into the left chamber through the suction valve. When the piston reaches the right position, the left chamber is filled with gas,and then the piston moves from the right end to the left end,and the gas is compressed. When the gas in the cylinder reaches the exhaust pressure, the exhaust valve opens and the gas is discharged, completing a working cycle.‌

In practical applications,in order to improve the pumping efficiency, reciprocating vacuum pumps usually use double acting cylinders, where the piston can simultaneously compress and pump in two directions. This design relies on a valve to achieve stable equilibrium pressure for the pump in a shorter period of time.
